I am a physiotherapist who work in a hospital in Powys, Mid Wales. I am a Sri Lankan, have been here a long time.
We also have formed a local charity called sri lanka rebuild and have raised lot of money and managed to build 4 pre-schools already and have enough to build the 5th. 3 schools in Hambantota district and one at Matara. People here have been amazingly generous and kind have donated over £31,000 already. It all began immediately after tsunami, we managed to send a 40foot container to sri lanka on the 5th January 2005.
We are now a registered charity, we contnue to raise funds to help these people who were affected by tsunami what ever the way we can.
I am so pleased to see so many people across the world, have been so kind and generous to Sri lankan people and others. I am very touched the way every one who are helping my home country and thank you all and keep up with good work and best wishes.

I was recently on holiday in Sri Lanka where i had the privilage to meet Sarah Griffith. I have never before met anyone so caring, compassionate and committed to helping others.
While I was there Sarah invited me to attend a presentation ceremony where through donations and Sarahs fund raising she was able to present, fishing boats, sewing machines, bicyles, food parcels etc and all the things that are overlooked in the big picture, but are so important in rebuilding peoples lives.
