My time spent volunteering for Bridge 2 Sri Lanka has been without doubt the most rewarding experience of my life.

Last year I went to Sri Lanka on two occasions with Sarah Griffith and on each occasion I departed feeling both humbled and very privileged to be able to assist in a small way people who need so much. On those trips I worked in the jungle painting a school that the charity had built. The school is now up and running very successfully and has 70 happy pupils.

Sarah Griffith is without doubt the most remarkable person I have ever met. Her huge determination, enormous will power and her sympathetic nature have combined to create a human dynamo and her achievements in Sri Lanka are staggering and beyond belief. That on her own she has created Bridge 2 Sri Lanka and has changed the lives of thousands of people in a third world country is beyond words.

Anyone wishing to volunteer for charity work is always faced with a huge dilemma as which charity to work with. Well please be very reassured that should you kindly volunteer to help Bridge 2 Sri Lanka you will not be disappointed. Once you have decided to volunteer Sarah will be very keen to meet you as she only invites those she feels will be able to best help the charity. With the benefit of www.Skype.com you can even meet Sarah face to face online if you are not based in Guernsey. What could be easier! Once you are in Sri Lanka Sarah personally oversees each and every project and she matches the volunteer to the task to which they will best be suited.

I leave for Sri Lanka again in the next few weeks and I feel that says it all.
