You will all have heard the devastating news about Haiti - Josh le Moignan, and I are investigating a trip out there in the next few days - We would plan to go initially obviously to do hands on help but also to try and organise another slightly later trip where I would ask people to volunteer to come out and help do some rebuilding work.

I need to investigate so many things and the reality of doing this in a very difficult political place.

I have a friend from New York, Alison, who is going out there - she is a nurse and we would aim to get together with her. She set up a field hospital in Sri Lanka after Tsunami and is a wonderful inspirational woman!

The BBC Radio and Guernsey Press have both pledged to support us and I would just ask that you donate whatever you can manage.

I will pay for my own flight - we need to try and get Josh's flight sponsored - and then we will target the money we raise directly at the tragedy - NONE of Bridge 2 Sri Lanka's current money will be spent on this project.
